Guide
What this site does
It builds printable maths worksheets. You choose a year, a topic and a few options, press one button, and the browser produces an A4 sheet: page 1 is the questions, page 2 is the answer key. Nothing is stored, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.
The topics are the calculation topics English primary schools spend the most time on: times tables, column addition and subtraction, short and long division, the bus stop method, the grid method and number bonds. Reading, spelling and grammar are not covered, because a half-built reading sheet is worse than none.
Guide
Who it is for
Teachers use it for starters, homework and early-finisher tasks, because a sheet can be generated for a specific table or a specific number of digits rather than pulled from a generic pack. Teaching assistants use the answer page to mark a set without needing to work the arithmetic first.
Parents use it when a child needs five more minutes on one table, or when a homework sheet has been lost. The answer key means an adult who is not confident with maths can still check the work, and the deep red answers stay readable when a home printer runs out of colour.
Guide
How the sheets are built
Every page is A4 with 15 mm side margins and 12 mm top and bottom, a 26 mm header for the title, name, date and class, and a footer with the site address, a note about where the answers are, and the page number. The question grid fits the space exactly, so nothing is clipped and nothing spills onto a second page by accident.
Type size follows the year: 18 pt for Years 1 and 2, 16 pt for Years 3 and 4, 14 pt for Years 5 and 6, with column and bus stop layouts one step larger so the digits stay aligned. Digits use tabular figures, which keeps the columns straight when a number has four or five digits.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is everything free?
Yes. There is no account, no email gate and no paywall. Generate as many sheets as you like and print as many copies as you need.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The generator runs in the browser and the print dialog turns the sheet into a PDF. Any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Chromebook or iPad will work.
Where are the answers?
On page 2 by default, in the same order and layout as the questions. Set Answer key to Off if you want the questions only.
Why is everything A4?
The site is built for England, where A4 is the paper every school printer and photocopier expects. Fixing the size means the sheet prints at 100% with no scaling and no clipped edges.
Can I use these sheets in school?
Yes. Print them for your class, your tutoring group or your own children. They are independent practice material and are not connected to any exam board or government body.
Which topics are covered?
Times tables, column addition, column subtraction, short division, long division, bus stop method, grid method multiplication and number bonds. All eight are calculation topics; reading and grammar are not covered.
How accurate is the answer key?
Every answer is calculated by the same code that builds the question, so the two cannot disagree. The unit tests check every topic, including carrying, borrowing and remainders.
